Purchased a car from here and the owner and his daughter have been absolutely fantastic. I initially went to look at the car and wasn't put under any pressure at all. No pushy sales patter,or hard sell tactics.
All the cars for sale are in Fantastic condition and indoors for viewing. I purchased the X3 that I looked at,and a couple of small problems came up that they couldn't have possibly known about at the time of sale, yet they swiftly sorted them out for me with a nice friendly attitude.If you spot a car you like,don't hesitate to buy from here,

By far the easiest and most pleasurable car buying experience! They have a really nice selection of cars, presented well. I wanted to customise the alloy wheels and they were able to do this for me before I picked my new car up. Owned it for over 2 months now and it's been amazing. another superb service today from Andrew & the team at Independent Cars. Hilux service at superb value, honest advice. No issues. I take 3 cars there now for all needs, had clutch changed, timing belt, various MOT etc. excellent overall.
and again in July 2023, two days before going away and one of the universal joint on my Hilux propshaft starts playing up. Cue a visit to the garage where Andrew & Farrell managed to shuffle things around, arrange for a propshaft specialist to take care of the issue, and restore the Hilux to perfect working condition at very very short notice. This was done same day, very competitively priced, and more importantly expertly handled and executed. I cannot recommend these guys enough.

An absolute pleasure to deal with Steve and Emily when changing our Mini. Offered a fair price to trade in our old one, higher than anyone else who'd quoted, even MINI themselves, and love our new one, amazing spec! Having bought many cars over the years from car sales/dealers, I have never come across such an amazing company as Independent Cars!
The quality of the vehicles and the customer service is second to none.
Family owned business and you really feel cared about. They genuinely want you to feel that you have received the best customer service.
From initial contact, viewing and test driving vehicle; through to paying/collection and after sales service was incredible and really customer friendly.
A credit to Steve, Emily, Andrew and all the very skilled technicians there as they were 100%.
They have a wonderful selection of high quality vehicles and their own service/technician department.
If only all car sales could be this way and have this compassion and customer focus.
Thank you all for everything and I would recommend them to everyone.
I will definitely choose them in the future for any further vehicles.

I've had my motorhome Mot'd by Independent cars for the last 3 years and can honestly say that they have carried out a very thorough test.
I'm quite happy for the technician to give my vehicle a very thorough inspection as I carry my wife and Grandson's in it occasionally.
On the last test I watched the technician and even commented on how thorough he was.

Faultless service from Independent Cars. I dealt with Roger, very professional and has a lot of knowledge of vehicles. Gave me a good part exchange price. Although the car I was buying was a cheap runabout as a second, Roger still made it feel like a special purchase by having it cleaned and parked in the showroom ready for collection. We even ended up just sitting and having a chat about cars after all the deal was done. I wouldn't hesitate to use this garage again.

I recently traded in my car and purchased a new one from yourselves, Roger was amazing from start to finish I had a few questions and queries and he resolved everyone of them in an expereinced and professional manner.
Today my car needed a cambelt and water pump done and was met with John who was very friendly & helpful, I needed help with swopping wheels and he said the garage would help but I arrived at 17:05 and the garage had closed. I had all four to change and they were in the boot of my car, John offered to help and he came out to my car with a jack and helped me change all four wheels in record time!
I have no words to say but the customer service at 'independent cars' is above and beyond and then some more!
I will always get my cars serviced from them and will definitely buy more cars from here in the future.

Fantastic information, service and , most importantly, our Hyundai i40 was exactly as described by Emily. We had to buy at a distance, unable to find what we were looking for locally in Devon and, from the minute my husband made phone contact with Independent Cars, we knew we were in safe hands. We were given every detail we asked for, video viewing of the car inside and out and delivery was arranged swiftly and efficiently. Most importantly - the car was exactly as described, in great condition, and a pleasure to drive. Emily even followed up post delivery to check all was well. I started using the services of IC (earlier this year) when I'd lost trust with a garage, which I'd previously used for years, changed hands...it's not a nice situation to be in when you know you're being charged for work that (you know) does not need to be carried out...so on my search for a new garage, I'm so glad picked the phone up to the team at Independent Cars. Every time I've called, emailed, messaged online, or whoever I've dealt with at the dealership...every member of the team has been extremely professional, helpful, and very customer focussed in their approach. Even going (what I consider to be above and beyond) in situations to really help me as a customer. I've already made several recommendations to friends and family who I know have already used the services of IC and they've also been very pleased with the service they've received. I think it can be challenging to find a garage you can trust, but I've found one in IC...Thanks to all the team at IC...keep up the great work!

Found Independent cars on Autotrader and the reviews make me comfortable with the drive 70 milesr to see the car I wanted, Jaguar X-Type. I then bought my car from Independent Cars in Jan 2017, was the best one of the model I could find, immaculate on collection. Had no problems with the car in two years. A local garage owner I know has said mine is the nicest X-Type he has ever seen.
I was so impressed with the service and presentation, I take my car back for its annual service, get charged a very fair price for it.
Would recommend this business to anyone and if I do change my car in the future, I will be asking Steve or Jay to find the one I want.

Everything was so hassle free and straightforward and they even delivered the car to Glasgow for me. Got a great car for a fantastic price and couldn't be happier. Would also like to mention that every time I called as soon as I said my name the guys new exactly who I was which made a big difference for me. Just want to let other people know about Independent Cars as have recently bought a new car from then and with many years of buying cars, this definitely the best experience we've had! We arranged to visit to view a car, on arrival we were shown the car and left to look around it with no pressure, we took it on a really good test drive, on returning to the sales room everything was explained to us about the car and warranty, in a professional and relaxed manner and we decided to buy the car and collected it a few days later. We have recently purchased a BMW X1 from Independent Cars and we can honestly say that it has been the most "stress free" experience of car buying we have ever had.
Michelle was very professional and ensured everything went smoothly.
We had booked our previous car in for a MOT and looked in the showroom - and saw the BMW X1 and within a week we had a test drive, bought it and drove it away!! When we picked up our new car it looked pristine.

Outstanding after sales and customer service from Independent Cars!
I bought a used car from Steve at Independent Cars.
You sometimes only find out how good a place is when something goes wrong.
The car developed a pretty serious fault, and Steve was very approachable and was genuinely interested in getting the issue fixed.
Due to me living in London and the distances involved, Steve tried to come up with a couple of options for me to get the car fixed, including buying the car back from me.
Steve and the team were always on hand to help, and were very understanding to their being a fault with the car.
When something goes wrong, this kind of after sales service makes all the difference!
I would happily buy another car from Steve, and recommend friends to buying a used car from Independent cars, knowing you would have that peace of mind that they will look after you if anything goes wrong with the car. Almost like buying a new one!

Called in without an appointment as my headlamp had stopped working, they fixed it with just a charge for the bulb and fitted it free! Back in my car in less than ten minutes, thats service for you! Will recommend anyone to try them, there are friendly and very helpful.

I have used Independent Cars for a number of years and have always found their work to be excellent and have received excellent advice from them. They have always gone out of their way to find an affordable solution to issues with my cars. I would highly recommend them.

I bought a car from independent cars about 2 months ago now at a very reasonable price. The car itself has had a couple of niggly problems (it's an alfa after all) which I expected. However THE SERVICE I HAVE RECEIVED HAS BEEN NOTHING SHORT OF EXCEPTIONAL! I have bought alot of cars in the past from other dealers and the salesmen are all very nice until something goes wrong. The team at independent cars (the two Steve's especially) have been nothing short of legendary. Every problem has been solved under the very comprehensive warranty (even some other bits that were not covered were sorted) and in excellent time, they did not moan or gripe. They just did it and with a smile. The place is always clean and tidy and the workshop is organised and efficient (there is a window in the waiting area were you can see the team of skilled mechanics at work). I would highly recommend anyone looking to buy a used car go to Independent cars. The after sales service of any company is the most important in my eyes and these guys and gals have got it spot on. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.. I will be 100% taking my car there for it's services and MOT's and making sure I buy my next car from Independent Cars.
